A) Pot roast is so easy. Cut up vegetables - onion, carrots, potatoes - and put in the bottom. Season with salt and pepper, garlic, grill seasoning, whatever you like. Put roast on top of veggies and season. Add about 1 cup of water. Cover and cook on high 6-7 hours or low 9-10 hours or until meat just falls apart! Yum!
Chili. Throw everything for your favorite chili recipe in the pot (brown ground beef or stew meat on the stove first). Cook on low all day.

Slow Cooker Recipes
http://www.kraftfoods.com/main.aspx?s=recipe&m=recipe%2Fknet_recipe_grid&u1=keyword&u2=slow+cookerDoes anyone know any good slow cooker soup recipes?Q) I just got one for Christmas that I'm dying to use but I don't have any good recipes!
A) Almost any recipe you have for soup can be made in a crockpot. It's just a slower, moister cooking form, which is great for stews, where the meat will cook slowly and absorb the flavors of the liquid it's in. It's really great for lean and cheap cuts of meat such as stew meat, because it is such a low, slow cooking process.
A few suggestions first though. If a recipe calls for hamburger or meat, I would brown the hamburger completely, and brown the meat on all sides before placing in crockpot. This just adds extra flavor that it won't get in the crockpot when added raw. Also, if a recipe calls for rice or noodles, cook them seperately and add into the soup in the last half hour of cooking time. Hope these recipes help. Enjoy!

Yummy!Need Slow Cooker Recipes for ground meat/turkey?Q) I love using my crockpot but have been unable to find ground beef/turkey recipes where you DON'T have to cook the meat, etc. first. Maybe it's simply not possible or suggested to throw raw meat in the crockpot but if I can do it with chicken, why not ground meat? Most recipes of this type have noodles which also have to be pre-cooked. I mean really, if I have to pre-cook everything first why even bother with the slow cooker at all? So if anyone has any recipes to not have to pre-cook meat or anything else, please share. Thanks!

EnjoyChili slow cooker recipes?Q) I want to make chilii using my new slow cooker. Anyone have any tips. I have ground turkey and a lot of dried pinto, white kidney, and garbanzo beans. Do I have to cook the beans before putting them in the slower cooker or can I put them in raw?
A) soak the beans overnight in water that covers them and put 1 tbsp baking soda in it. it'll make it so you don't have terrible gas from the fresh beans. then parboil the beans for 20 minutes until the skins start to wrinkle. now in the slow cooker you have to make sure there is plenty of fluid to cover the beans and so don't put in your thickening agents until the last hour or so. you'll be slow cooking your beans all day so put them in the morning and have chilli for supper. I find putting a really strong cup of coffee in with the beans makes for a delicious bite. so I would brown your turkey and put it in the pot with the beans and 1 diced onion. a diced green pepper, 4 garlic cloves minced, jalapeno peppers sliced to taste. salt and pepper to taste...a bit of sugar to mellow it out....cup coffee....sprinkle of cumin and oregano....2-4 tbsp chili powder, can of diced tomatoes. top up with water cook all day adding more water as needed near the end add tomato paste to thicken and then taste for saltiness and adjust seasonings accordingly. I never follow a recipe I just throw things together.Slow cooker recipes for a picky eater.?Q) My husband does not like cream of anything soups, chunks of tomatoes (sauce is OK), Veggies, or alot of cheese, or Italian sausage The only recipes I can find have some of these things in it...please help me I really want to use my crockpot!
